Connecting or reconnecting a channel

Connecting takes two clicks: log in at the platform and grant access. When a token expires you see a banner and reconnect.

Connecting

Go to Channels and click Connect on the platform. You are sent to the platform, log in there and allow Uploadlane to publish on your behalf. Then you are back in Uploadlane with the account connected. Uploadlane never stores your password; the platform issues a token that you can revoke at any time.

What each platform needs

  • TikTok: connects the account you are logged into in the browser. Log in to the right account there first.
  • Instagram: a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook page you are admin of. You log in with Facebook; Uploadlane then finds your Instagram.
  • Facebook: a page, not a personal profile. You have to be admin of the page.
  • Threads: linked to your Instagram account.
  • YouTube: the Google account of your channel.

The info icon next to each platform explains step by step what you need and what you can post there.

Reconnecting

Tokens expire over time, or a platform revokes them when you change your password. The account then shows Connection lost, a banner appears in the dashboard and scheduled posts to that account pause until you reconnect. Click Reconnect and go through the same two steps; scheduled posts continue afterwards.

You also get an email about this, so you do not miss it when the dashboard is not open. Turn it off under Settings, Notifications. The Sync button on the Channels page checks all connections at once.
